JJ Redick’s career night: A masterclass in shooting efficiency

When we speak of catch-and-shoot players in the NBA, it’s hard not to mention JJ Redick.

The former Duke sensation was known for his highly efficient scoring ability. With his quick releases and accurate shots, he provided instant offense off the bench or in the starting lineup.

However, it wasn’t until joining the Clippers that JJ fully explored his potential. Playing under Coach Doc Rivers for four seasons, the former Naismith College Player of the Year averaged 15.8 PPG on 44% shooting from the 3-point line.

During his stint with the Clippers, JJ recorded his career-high on unbelievable shooting splits in a regular-season outing against the Rockets in 2016. On that night, after having been on the losing side of grueling defeats against James Harden and Co., the 6-foot-3 guard unlocked his sniper mode.

Leading up to JJ’s career night, the Clippers had an awful recent history with the Rockets. The previous spring, LA blew a 3-1 lead in the playoffs against Houston, and in the first two meetings of that 2016 campaign, Houston prevailed again.
