CERRITOS, Calif., Oct. 3 (KNN) — A loaded big rig overturned on the 91 Freeway around 1:18 a.m. Thursday, prompting a response from the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officers from the Santa Fe Springs Area Office and Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded to an overturned tractor-trailer on the eastbound 91 Freeway to the northbound 605 Freeway.
Once CHP and firefighters arrived, they located a tractor-trailer on its side against a wall. The big rig driver managed to get out safely and was not transported to a hospital.
CHP had the transition road closed from the eastbound 91 Freeway to the northbound 605 Freeway in the city of Cerritos.
A Sig Alert was issued for about two hours. The trailer was loaded with merchandise.
