$120K seized from Southern California man and woman smoking narcotics in car

Police in Glendale seized more than $100,000 in cash from two people who were reportedly smoking narcotics in a vehicle in plain sight late last week, officials announced Monday.

The discovery came on the evening of Oct. 4 when officers with the Glendale Police Department were dispatched to the 600 block of West Broadway, between San Fernando Road and South Pacific Avenue, on reports of a man and woman doing drugs inside a car, according to a department social media post .

After officers allegedly witnessed the pair “smoking narcotics in plain sight,” they approached the vehicle and detained them.

A search of the vehicle revealed $120,000 in U.S. currency, burglary tools, narcotics, stolen electronics and evidence of identity theft, police said.

Both were arrested and taken to jail.

No other information, including the identities of the male and female suspects, was provided.
