October 9, 2024 – Orange County Sheriff’s Department officials report that the Sheriff’s Department is deeply saddened to announce the loss of one of our deputies, Derek Tec. Deputy Tec, 24, was off-duty scuba diving with friends near Moro Beach at Crystal Cove State Park on October 6 when he tragically passed away.
