Man Detained in Encino After Threatening Metro Bus Driver

ENCINO, LOS ANGELES, Oct. 22 (KNN) — One person was taken into police custody following an emergency call aboard a Metro bus in Encino Monday night.

The incident unfolded on the bus shortly before 10:30 p.m. along Ventura Boulevard west of Interstate 405 when a 911 caller reported an armed man threatening to kill the driver with a gun.

LAPD officers located the bus, which displayed a message asking the public to call 911.

A spokesperson for the LAPD told KNN that the suspect made threatening comments to the bus driver and was arguing with the driver. He was also spitting while on the bus.

It was unclear if responding officers recovered a gun at the scene.

One man was handcuffed and taken into custody from the bus parked on Ventura Boulevard, west of Balboa Boulevard.

No injuries were reported. However, the driver was shaken by the incident.
