LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers dropped their second straight game after suffering a 131-114 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies at FedExForum.
The Lakers kept it close for 2.5 quarters before the Grizzlies pulled away late in the third. With such a large deficit, Los Angeles coach JJ Redick elected to pull the plug with 4:35 remaining in the game, which led to LeBron’s son, Bronny James, making his fourth appearance of the season.
Bronny didn’t do much in his few minutes of action, missing both of his shot attempts. He did, however, tally two points after hitting his first two free throw attempts of his NBA career. Still, there was one moment in the game Bronny would like to forget.
A little over one minute after checking into the game, Bronny received the ball at the top of the arc. As he made a move on a Grizzlies defender, the No. 55 pick in the 2024 NBA draft attempted a deep three-point shot, but it didn’t go exactly how he planned. The ball clanked off the corner where the back of the rim and the backboard meet, making a loud “thud” sound—a brick.
