Mater Dei Marching Wildcats rehearse final time before Indy

EVANSVILLE, In (WEHT) – The Mater Dei Marching Wildcats are going back to the state band competition in Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium this weekend, and they used Friday afternoon as their final rehearsal before the big performance.

Band Director Allison Field says this is far from the first time that the band has been to state. She says this most recent trip will be their 14th back-to-back appearance and 16th overall.

Field gave a small preview of what the show will be about.

“This show is about pop music and the mixing of a couple different tunes back-to-back. It’s a very energetic and fun show. We have some great special effects and hidden props and cool reveals in our closer. It’s a pretty exciting and energetic show,” she said.

She shared what she’s looking forward to the most.

“Ending the season with our best show possible. I think these kids worked incredibly hard this season. I’m excited to go and show the state what we have.”
