SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Weak Santa Ana winds are back for the middle of this week to bring windy, dry and slightly warmer conditions before the next storm system.
On the back side of a system now to the east, it has flipped back to weak offshore flow as some breezy northeast to easterly winds will impact mainly the desert and mountain communities the next few afternoons. This doesn’t look to be a strong wind event but will still bring some elevated fire concern to the region.
Wednesday will be a tad bit warmer with widespread mid to upper 70s in the inland valleys, low 70s for the coast, mid 70s for the mountains and low 80s for the deserts.
A low-pressure system originating from the Gulf of Alaska will slide down California this week and looks to approach Friday sometime. Rain chances at this point range from Friday into Saturday with totals up to a quarter inch of rain for west-facing mountain slopes. There is still some uncertainty regarding the timing and amount of rainfall anticipated.
