Company planning luxurious overnight train between California’s largest cities makes big move

Dreamstar Lines, a Newport Beach-based transit startup, announced a significant step in its plan to launch luxury overnight train trips between Los Angeles and the Bay Area.

On Tuesday, the company revealed it has enlisted Designworks, a BMW Group subsidiary, to craft the interiors and exteriors of its future rail cars.

The envisioned train cars will feature first-class suites with private bedrooms and restrooms, standard seating with optional bedrooms, and lounge cars equipped with a bar and open seating.

Dreamstar promises a “luxurious blend of comfort and elegance” in the design, aiming to redefine rail travel in California. This move marks another stride toward realizing its vision of premium, overnight train service along the state’s iconic corridor.
