Attempted murder suspect taken into custody downtown Los Angeles after pursuit 01:34

Several blocks downtown Los Angeles were blocked off early Tuesday morning as police searched for an alleged attempted murder suspect after a pursuit, eventually finding him as he tried to hide in a trash can.

Los Angeles police officers originally spotted the suspect in the Wilshire division just before 5 a.m. Police attempted to pull him over in his red Dodge Ram pickup truck, but he sped away.

A 15-minute pursuit ended when the suspect jumped out of his truck in downtown Los Angeles around 6th and Flower streets.

Police tracked the suspect outside of Casey’s Irish Pub on Grand Avenue, where he was attempting to hide in a trashcan.

The suspect was taken into custody. Details regarding the attempted murder were not available, only that the suspect allegedly used a knife. It is not known if he was still armed when he was taken into custody.
