TUSTIN, California — A routine patrol check by Tustin police led to the discovery of a significant drug stash in a hotel parking lot. Officers seized various narcotics with an estimated street value of nearly $62,000.During the patrol, a Tustin police officer noticed several individuals quickly entering a hotel as he approached a stopped vehicle, according to a press release from the Tustin Police Department. Suspecting suspicious activity, the officer identified the vehicle as belonging to a local probationer. With assistance from an Orange County Sheriff’s Department K9 unit, officers searched two vehicles and found approximately 1,025 grams of DMT, 402 grams of methamphetamine, 59 grams of heroin, 45 grams of cocaine, 5 grams of suspected PCP, and 1,920 M-30 pills, a schedule II narcotic.In addition to the drugs, officers discovered drug paraphernalia, scales, cell phones, large amounts of cash, and evidence of drug sales. The suspects were also found with tools for breaking into structures and vehicles, as well as stolen license plates. The probationer and an accomplice were booked at Orange County Jail on multiple felony charges, stated the Tustin Police Department. The seized drugs were taken off the streets and booked as evidence.
