Irvine man arrested for slingshot vandalism spree

IRVINE, California — A 55-year-old Irvine man was arrested after allegedly using a slingshot to damage vehicles and homes in Cypress Village. The suspect was found hiding in a closet during a search of his residence.Sang Min Lee, of Irvine, was taken into custody and booked at Orange County Jail on felony vandalism charges, according to the Irvine Police Department. Officers recovered several slingshots and pellets believed to be used in the crimes. The arrest followed a lead developed by a patrol officer and a subsequent search warrant executed with the help of detectives. Lee also faces warrants related to vandalism in Los Angeles, stated the department.
