HACIENDA HEIGHTS, Calif., Dec. 24 (KNN) – The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Industry Station and Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded to the 16200 block of Sigman Street for a child not breathing around 10:38 p.m. Sunday.
The LASD and LACoFD, along with paramedics, transported a young child, reportedly 5 years old, to a local hospital with CPR in progress.
The LASD, with multiple deputies, escorted the ambulance to Queen of the Valley Hospital in the 1100 block of South Sunset Avenue in West Covina.
A next-door neighbor who declined an on-camera interview told KNN “that the child was found in the backyard of the residence in a pool and was rushed to the hospital with CPR in progress.”
LASD had crime scene tape set up outside the residence where the child was located. An LASD Watch Commander confirmed via a telephone call that the child had passed away at the hospital, and now the incident has been turned over to detectives.
The LASD had a second location taped off at Sigman Street and Eastleigh Avenue. It is unknown at this time if it’s related to the first scene.
