Free baby diapers will be distributed to low-income Hawaiian Gardens residents at the Helen Rosas Center on January 9 at 3:00 pm. The diapers will be given out by Baby2Baby, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Those wishing to receive diapers must have identification and fill out an application. The center is located on 22150 Wardham Avenue.
The National Diaper Bank Network says, “1 in 2 U.S. families with young children cannot afford enough diapers to keep their infant or child clean, dry, and healthy. These babies are more vulnerable to painful rashes and urinary tract infections and have more trips to the doctor.”
There are opportunities to volunteer at Baby2Baby’s headquarters or to assemble hygiene kits at home.
