Police in Claremont have announced the arrests of a “serial commercial burglary suspect” and a woman suspected of possessing stolen goods connected to the burglaries.
A press release from the Claremont Police Department issued late Saturday night states that six businesses were burglarized “during the nighttime hours” between Thursday and Saturday; four of the incidents took place in the 800 block of West Foothill Boulevard.
The other two burglaries occurred in the 700 block of South Indian Hill Boulevard, which is around two miles south of the other locations that were hit.
Authorities investigating the string of burglaries were able to identify a suspect and track him to a hotel in Claremont on Saturday. The man, 30-year-old Hector Bernal, was seen exiting the hotel just before 1 p.m. and arrested without incident.
He was charged with six counts of commercial burglary, grand theft, theft with priors and possession of stolen property.
