San Diego residents can expect a slight drop in temperature leading into the week, with the potential for cooler weather and a chance of light rain, especially in mountain areas. The National Weather Service San Diego indicates today’s highs will range from the mid-60s along the coast to the mid-90s in the lower deserts. Moving into Monday, conditions are set to remain comparable, with coastal areas seeing temperatures between 64 to 70 degrees and the western valleys and inland Orange County ranging from 69 to 74 degrees.
Breezy conditions are expected to develop below passes, reaching into the deserts by this evening. “Breezy onshore winds will develop below the passes and into the deserts again this afternoon and evening,” according to the Area Forecast Discussion released by the National Weather Service. Over the next few days, the marine layer will bring low clouds and fog, mostly during nighttime and early morning, with a deeper layer setting in by Tuesday.
There’s also a small but noteworthy chance for precipitation later in the week. “There is a 10 to 15 percent chance of light precipitation over the mountains Monday night, and then a 15 to 25 percent chance for the mountains westward at times Thursday night through Saturday,” the National Weather Service reported.
