New Mexican Smash Burger Concept Opening in Long Beach

Beasties, a brand new Latin-inspired smash burger and taqueria concept, is making its debut this summer at 6332 Pacific Coast Hwy in Marina Pacifica.

The restaurant is set to replace Eat Fantastic, according to LongBeachize. While Eat Fantastic is an investor, Beasties will feature an entirely new menu and atmosphere. The concept focuses on a Mexican Smash Burger theme, with offerings like smash tacos, smash burger burritos, and Beastie Fries—each paired with a proprietary cheese sauce explicitly designed for dipping. Burgers will be topped with jalapeños and onions for added flavor, and all fries will be cooked in tallow for a richer taste. Co-owner and chef Jon Rogan tells What Now that this concept will open June 1.

The dessert lineup includes soft serve ice cream in horchata and Mexican chocolate flavors, which can be swirled together. The soft serve ice cream is not made in-house, but the business makes its proprietary flavors. One of the signature items will be a Mexican banana split, featuring churro-coated, deep-fried bananas. Beverage options will include a selection of classic bottled drinks, such as Mexican Coke and Jarritos, as well as beer and possibly wine. The menu reflects a fusion of street food energy with chef-driven details. Also on the menu is the Burgerito—a burrito mashup spin on a Cali burrito—smashburgers, tallow-fried fries, guacamole, house salsa, thin-sliced jalapeño, and onions. Beastie Fries are tallow-fried, gold potatoes, made with no seed oils…
