Pomona Man Charged with Murder After Fatal Altercation on West Holt Avenue

A Southern California man faces murder charges following an altercation in Pomona last month that led to another man’s death, authorities said. The Pomona Police Department responded to an incident on March 26 in the area of West Holt Avenue and Short Street where a male victim required CPR after a fist fight, as reported by KTLA. The victim was transported to a local hospital in a critical condition and has since been placed on life support with dim prospects for survival.

The investigation by the Pomona Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit led to the identification of the suspect, 41-year-old Oliver Jacobs Jr., who is now in custody. “The preliminary investigation revealed that two male adults were involved in a physical altercation at the location,” the Pomona Police detailed in a Facebook post. During the fight, the victim fell and was rendered unconscious, and the suspect allegedly walked away from the scene.
