Shaun Tomson is a world champion surfer, best-selling author, motivational speaker, entrepreneur, and environmentalist. He’s been called one of the greatest surfers of all time as well as one of the most influential surfers of the century by Surfer magazine, and you can see his name in Huntington Beach’s Surfing Walk of Fame. With his motivational speeches, he’s inspired employees at corporations such as General Motors, Google, and Disney. This year, he brought his Positive Wave Tour to schools across Southern California including schools in Huntington Beach, Seal Beach, Corona del Mar, Newport Beach, and Laguna Beach.In this week’s episode, he shares what his first experience surfing was like when he was 9 years old. He also talks about finishing third in his first competition and how that shaped his confidence as a young surfer.
