In the early hours of Thursday, Long Beach became the scene of yet another episode in the city’s ongoing struggle with gun violence. The Long Beach Police Department reported a shooting incident that took place on the 700 block of Gardenia Avenue. According to the official LBPD blotter, officers were called to the scene around 12:38 a.m. following reports of gunshots. Although evidence of gunfire was found, fortunately, no individuals were harmed.
While the exact sequence of events is currently unclear, the LBPD confirmed that the perpetrator(s) had fled by the time law enforcement arrived. Despite the presence of bullets and casings that spoke to the violence of the night, the suspects remain at large and unidentified.
