For cities throughout Southern California, street takeovers have been a growing, dangerous problem for years. The city of Long Beach has had enough and plans to roll out a solution to combat this persistent nuisance, along with nabbing speeders.
“The city of Long Beach just like five other cities within the state of California have state authority to implement a pilot project for speed enforcement cameras,” said Eric Lopez, the director of Long Beach Public Works.
