Santa Ana’s City Council approves $100K to help the victims of ICE raids

SANTA ANA, Calif. – The City of Santa Ana has established an emergency financial assistance program for Santa Ana residents who have been impacted by recent federal immigration enforcement actions.

The Santa Ana Ayuda Sin Fronteras (Help Without Borders) program provides qualified households with up to one month‘s worth of housing expenses to help with past-due rent and utility bills. The Santa Ana City Council approved $100,000 in funding for the assistance program on July 1.

“Our community stands strongest when we support one another, especially in times of uncertainty,” Mayor Valerie Amezcua said. “This assistance program reflects the Santa Ana City Council’s commitment to protecting the dignity and stability of each resident impacted by the recent, unjust immigration enforcement actions.”…
