The Long Beach Police Department has reported a series of violent incidents that occurred on the evening of August 29, 2025. According to their dispatch, officers were called to investigate two shootings and two stabbings within a span of a few hours in various parts of the city.
In the first reported shooting, which took place on the 5800 Block of Gundry Avenue around 5:56 p.m., a suspect is said to have fired at a victim following a verbal dispute. While no individuals were harmed, one vehicle was damaged by the gunfire. “No injuries occurred; however, one vehicle was struck by a projectile,” the LBPD shared.
Stabbings were also part of the violent spree, with one taking place on the 1200 Block of Walnut Avenue, where a male victim was wounded at about 8:05 p.m., and another on the 5400 Block of Atlantic Avenue just minutes later at 8:17 p.m. Both victims were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
