California Governor Gavin Newsom and Attorney General Rob Bonta announced a settlement with the City of Artesia requiring the city to comply with state housing law. The agreement mandates a legally binding timeline for submitting a compliant housing element, paving the way for more than 1,000 new homes, including hundreds of affordable units.
Settlement Requires Housing Plan
Under the agreement, Artesia must revise its housing element for 2021–2029 and submit it for state approval.
