A tragic accident on Willow Street and Easy Avenue in Long Beach has claimed the life of a 60-year-old man. The Long Beach Police Department responded to reports of a collision on the evening of Sept. 27, around 10:50 p.m. According to CBS News, a 2002 Toyota Camry was found in the center median after striking a tree.
Before the paramedics arrived, several citizens had removed the driver from the vehicle and attempted to render aid. Despite their efforts, the man, whose identity is being withheld until his family can be notified, was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. The Long Beach Police Department news release states witnesses observed the car “driving erratically and swerving between lanes,” hinting at a possible loss of control leading to the fatal incident.
