A 29-year-old Garden Grove man, Anh Duy Phan, pleaded guilty Thursday and was immediately sentenced to five years in prison for breaking into a friend’s home and attacking her with a knife.
Phan pleaded guilty to burglary with a sentencing enhancement for committing a felony while armed. As part of a plea deal, charges of attempted murder, false imprisonment, criminal threats, and assault with a deadly weapon were dismissed. He received credit for 944 days in custody awaiting the resolution of his case.
