An accident occurred early Thursday morning when a man was killed after becoming trapped beneath a street sweeper in a Santa Fe Springs shopping center. According to authorities, the incident happened in the parking lot near Telegraph Road around 6 a.m. when the driver of the sweeper struck the man while cleaning the area. Emergency crews arrived quickly, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department are still working to determine how the man ended up beneath the vehicle.
