Pedestrian dies in early morning West Long Beach crash, police say

Police are investigating the death of a man who was hit by a pickup truck in West Long Beach Friday morning.

The man was crossing Pacific Coast Highway at Hayes Avenue around 6:23 a.m. when he was hit by a person driving a 2023 Ford F150 traveling eastbound, according to Long Beach police. The driver, identified only as a 40-year-old Wilmington resident, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, police said.
