The City of Palmdale will begin emergency food distribution in response to the suspension of CalFresh benefits for 1.5 million Los Angeles County residents. The distribution will be managed by South Antelope Valley Emergency Services (SAVES). Starting Monday, November 3, 2025, SAVES will offer drive-thru food distribution from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Thursday, at 1002 E. Ave. Q-12. Residents may line up beginning at 9 a.m. Walk-up assistance will be available for those without vehicles.
Mayor Pro Tem Laura Bettencourt stated that the city aims to provide food access for residents during the suspension. To focus on emergency distribution, SAVES will temporarily suspend other services, including deliveries and appointments. No documentation is required to receive food. Traffic control measures will be in place.
