A routine traffic stop on I-10 West near Seguin turned serious Friday night when police found over two pounds of black tar heroin in a truck. Officers had pulled the truck over just before 10 p.m. for several traffic violations, according to KENS 5.
The Seguin Police Department, according to a social media post they shared, deployed a K9 during the stop that was observed to alert to the odor of narcotics emanating from the vehicle. Beyond the significant stash of heroin — reported to have an estimated street value of some $65,000 — authorities also found THC products and a semi-automatic handgun, as reported by KSAT.
24-year-old Andres Teijeda Valencia from Irvine, Texas, who was behind the wheel at the time of the bust, now faces serious charges in the wake of the seizure. KSAT reports Valencia was arrested and charged with “manufacturing/delivery of a controlled substance and unlawful carrying of a weapon.”…
