On Wednesday, December 3, 2025, the UC Irvine Police Department received a report of a hate crime that occurred at approximately 2:09 p.m. near the intersection of Pereira Drive and West Peltason Drive.
According to the report, multiple juvenile suspects riding electric bicycles yelled ethnic slurs and threw items at a woman crossing the street. The suspects then fled the area. The victim described one suspect as having blond hair and light skin, while another wore a dark bicycle helmet and dark clothing.
UCIPD officers canvassed the area but were unable to locate the suspects. The investigation is ongoing.
