Following the sudden and heartbreaking death of his girlfriend, a new coffee shop in Long Beach has become a way for one Southern California man to not only heal, but also honor his late girlfriend with a living tribute.
Tommy Le’s life changed forever on Oct. 2, 2022. Le and his girlfriend, Reinne Lim, who were both 22 at the time, were hit by a wrong-way drunk driver on the 5 Freeway in Orange County. Lim was killed on impact. Le was hospitalized in critical condition. He spent more than a week in the ICU and underwent multiple surgeries with a long road to recovery.
After being released from the hospital and regaining his strength, Le never gave up on his goal of opening his own coffee shop. With the help of loved ones and the local community, Le, a former barista, eventually opened his shop in Long Beach and named it Reinne’s Place in honor of his late girlfriend…
