A violent wreck along the 210 Freeway in Azusa left multiple cars severely damaged overnight.
Preliminary information indicates the pileup took place just before 1:40 a.m. Tuesday on the eastbound side of the freeway near Citrus Avenue in Azusa.
In an update provided to KTLA shortly after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, the California Highway Patrol stated that five vehicles were involved in the crash.
While CHP officials could not confirm the number of victims, reports from news stringer service KNN say that “four to five” people were taken to hospitals in the wake of the crash; the L.A. County Fire Department, which also responded to the scene, told KTLA in a statement that three people were transported with “unknown” injuries.
