Man Survives Late-Night Shooting in Long Beach; LBPD Seeks Witnesses

Last night, in the waning hours of 2025, an individual fell victim to gunfire in Long Beach, the Long Beach Police Department reports a shooting that left a man with injuries, though he is expected to survive. According to a statement on the LBPD’s official website, the incident occurred on the 6600 block of Atlantic Avenue early in the morning, at around 1:23 a.m.

The male victim, whose identity has not been disclosed due to privacy and security reasons, was able to transport himself to a local hospital after he realized he’d been wounded amidst noise that he heard, which were presumably the sounds of the shots that injured him. The victim reported he was outside when the shooting occurred and unexpectedly noticed he was hurt, he then made his way to seek medical attention, landing him in the midst of emergency care where the police were subsequently notified of the situation.

The LBPD officers responded swiftly to the alarm, yet even with an area canvas in place, they were unable to pinpoint the exact location of the crime scene, the search yielding more questions than answers.
