Southern California man charged with murdering grandmother, severely injuring grandfather

A Southern California man was charged with murdering his grandmother and severely injuring his grandfather in a violent attack.

On New Year’s Day, West Covina police responded to a family disturbance involving the suspect, Joshua Philip Day, 28, at a home on the 1700 block of West Mossberg Avenue in West Covina just before 12:30 p.m.

Authorities found two victims — Priscilla Sesanto, 77, and Philip Sesanto, 74 — with severe injuries. Both were taken to the hospital where Priscilla went into a coma and died the next day. Her husband, Philip, was hospitalized with serious injuries but survived.
