An employee at a California Starbucks has been fired after handing a sheriff’s deputy a cup with a drawing of a pig on it. Officials have spoken out against the “offensive” incident.
On Friday, Jan. 9, a deputy from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said he stopped at a Starbucks in Norwalk, Calif., to get a cup of coffee in the midst of a 16-hour shift, according to a private social media post reviewed by CW affiliate KTLA. That’s when he alleged he was served a cup featuring a hand-drawn image of the animal.
“It felt discouraging and disrespectful, especially after a long day of serving the community,” the deputy wrote, according to the outlet. “All I wanted was caffeine, but instead I left feeling uneasy.”…
