A routine late-night vehicle check led to an unusual arrest in the High Desert, where deputies say they found a man asleep inside a stolen rental car along Needles Highway.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, deputies from the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department were conducting a vehicle check around 11:34 p.m. Wednesday in the 2600 block of Needles Highway when a records check revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen.
