Anaheim woman accused of killing and decapitating boyfriend arrested in Mexico

A 23-year-old Anaheim woman accused of killing and decapitating her boyfriend was arrested in Mexico and returned to the United States to face murder charges in Orange County.

Alyssa Marie Lira was charged with one felony count of murder and one felony enhancement of personally using a weapon in the death of her boyfriend of two months, 55-year-old Enrique Gonzalez-Carbajal. His decapitated body was discovered Aug. 25 inside Lira’s home, according to investigators.

Authorities said they believe Lira fled to Mexico immediately after the killing, where she was arrested Jan. 22. She faces a maximum sentence of 26 years to life if convicted on all counts…
