Washington picked up a key commit on Sunday when Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Ca.) DL/EDGE Matamatagi Uiagalelei made his pledge to the Huskies’ 2027 recruiting class. He is the seventh prospect to announce his intention to play for the Dawgs.
In addition to his offer from the Huskies, Uiagalelei also had full rides from Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, Colorado, Miami, Michigan, Missouri, UCLA, San Jose State, Charlotte and San Diego State and was getting heavy interest from Tennessee, Texas, Oklahoma, USC and Oregon among others.
Last week, Uiagalelei announced he’d locked in his official visit to Montlake, a campus he’s visited several times, mostly due to his older brother, Ta’ita’i Uiagalelei, playing for the Huskies and his strong relationship with the coaches.
