The death of the California Highway Patrol (CHP) officer, who crashed his patrol car on duty in Culver City last year, was caused by the effects of fentanyl, Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office announced Monday.
Officer Miguel Cano, 34, crashed his cruiser into a tree at around 12:30 a.m. on July 2, 2025 with his partner and a DUI suspect in the car.
