Santa Ana police have arrested a couple suspected of shoplifting and assaulting a loss prevention officer last month in an incident captured on surveillance video.
The Jan. 23 confrontation occurred at MainPlace Mall in Santa Ana, where video showed a man and woman selecting several men’s suit jackets, dress shirts, pants and ties, placing the items in a bag and walking out of the store without paying.
“When a loss prevention officer attempted to stop them, a struggle ensued,” police said in a Feb. 4 public alert. “During the confrontation, the male suspect struck the female loss prevention officer in the face.”…
