3 in custody after warehouse burglary, pursuit through Orange, Los Angeles counties

An early morning warehouse burglary and pursuit led to a trio of suspects being taken into custody, according to authorities.

Officials with the Costa Mesa Police Department responded to a call for a burglary in progress at a warehouse in the 600 block of Paularino Avenue at 6:22 a.m. Sunday.

“Two vehicles fled the scene [including] one that went the wrong way on the 55 Freeway,” CMPD said. “Officers stopped pursuing due to safety issues and the suspects got away.”

The other vehicle that fled also led police on a chase that ended more than 22 miles away in Lakewood at the intersection of Fidler Avenue and South Street. CMPD said they received assistance from the Orange and Los Angeles County sheriff’s departments and the California Highway Patrol with the pursuit.
