Pilot killed in Arizona plane crash was coming from Southern California: NTSB

The pilot who died in a fatal plane crash in Arizona last month was en route to The Grand Canyon State from SoCal, according to new findings released by the National Transportation Safety Board.

According to the NTSB, the plane, a Socata TB21 with the registration number N967WM, took off from John Wayne/Orange County Airport (SNA) in Santa Ana around 4:50 p.m. on Feb. 4, the same day two members of the Arizona Department of Public Safety died in a helicopter crash while responding to an active shooter situation. Its planned destination was Prescott Regional/Ernest Love Field Airport (PRC) in Prescott, Arizona, about 278 nautical miles to the east.
