A suspected shoplifter who may have thought he slipped away unseen was actually spotted by a police drone in Orange County on Wednesday night.
Officers were called to a Huntington Beach retail store after the suspect was seen breaking off several security tags from merchandise, the Huntington Beach Police Department said in a Facebook post.
Before officers arrived, the suspect left the store, but the department’s Drone First Responder pilot was already in the air and captured the suspect vehicle’s license plate, police said.
Using the drone footage and suspect description, officers later tracked down the individual and took him into custody. The suspect’s identity has not been released…
