A 34-year-old man with a previous felony conviction pleaded guilty Thursday and was sentenced to 22 years in prison for the gang-related fatal shooting of a 20-year-old man near the entrance of an Anaheim hotel 5 1/2 years ago.
Richard Perez Arteaga pleaded guilty to murder, possession of a gun by a felon, participating in gang activity and assault with a semiautomatic firearm. He admitted a sentencing enhancement for gang activity and discharge of a gun causing death.
Co-defendant Danny Rey Quintana, 29, was sentenced March 6 to 11 years in prison, or time already served, for his part in the killing. He pleaded guilty Jan. 22 to participating in gang activity and assault with a deadly weapon with a sentencing enhancement for gang activity.
