Robots are reporting for duty in another Southern California suburb.Residents in Whittier may have spotted one of the city’s new “Daxbots” rolling along neighborhood sidewalks. The small, slow‑moving units use GPS technology and sensors to map cracks, curb ramps and other accessibility issues.
The goal is to flag hazards and improve safety for anyone who relies on sidewalks for mobility. Irvine rolled out the Daxbots last August.
