Between approximately 1:00 a.m. and 1:20 a.m. on April 13, 2026, a pursuit involving a possible stolen tow truck began in Orange County and continued into Los Angeles.
The chase traveled northbound on the 5 Freeway, passing through East Los Angeles near Olympic Boulevard, before entering the Downtown Los Angeles area.
