A 14-year-old girl reported missing from San Diego was found safe Wednesday night in a Santa Ana motel room after a multi-agency human trafficking task force tracked her to the California Lodge and arrested a 21-year-old man. Santa Ana officers and the city’s code-enforcement team helped zero in on the room where authorities say the teen was being held, and officials said the minor was transported to receive medical care and victim services as the investigation continues.

According to the Santa Ana Police Department, the operation involved a human trafficking task force made up of U.S. Marshals and the Los Angeles Police Department.
