MASS evacuations have been triggered as officials brace for a huge chemical tank to spill or explode at any given time.
The 34,000-gallon tank holding methyl methacrylate (MMA) a highly flammable and volatile chemical, is located at an aerospace plant in Garden Grove, southern California.
Officials at the GKN Aerospace plant warned that it cannot be secured after it started overheating and leaking on Thursday when a relieve valve opened up to cool it down.
As a result, it now threatens to “spill between 6,000 and 7,000 gallons or explode” in what is already being called an “unprecedented disaster.”…
