ANCHORAGE, AK (Alaska’s News Source) – Alaska is in for a mixed bag this week, with a Winter Weather Advisory for the far north coast and unseasonably warm temperatures across the interior and southcentral regions through the Fourth of July.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the northwest coast from Point Lay to Utqiagvik, where snow and ice glaze are possible tonight into Thursday.
But for most of Alaska, the story is very different.
Warming trend takes hold
Interior and southcentral Alaska will see highs climbing into the 60s and 70s through the end of the week — well above normal for early July. Anchorage, Fairbanks, and surrounding areas will enjoy mostly sunny to partly sunny skies with minimal rain expected…
